Default Building a 82 GT for Drag

I want to build my car mainly for the 1/4, what setup should I go with? I am going to gut the interior and anything else that I don't need. The car has a 8.8 rear, subframe conectors,AOD trans, carbed 302. I want to make this car hook off the line what upper/lower arms should I get? I was going to put a roll bar in, is there any difference between company's? I want to keep it carbed I saw a H/C/I from Edelbrook that claims 400h.p. in Summit is this a good kit or should I piece it together ?What about springs/shocks ? How light do you think I could make this car?

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like my '84 sort of.
Get rid of the AOD and use a C-4, that way you can still afford to eat.
I'd stay carbeb too ,I'm on carby. No one really sells a top end kit so you have to really think about what to use.
I'd put plenty of time /work into the wieght reduction and suspension areas.
Use some adjustable upper/lower rear arms with some adjustanble shocks.
90/10 front lakewoods with any number of differant front sprins.
My '84 hatch is 2860# with myself on board......

yea its for a 351 so it wont fit ur motor, if i were u i would find a 351 out of a truck or van or any thin out of the junkyard or if u have a lot of money to spend buy one from ford the come with forgedbottom end, then do ur edy top end kit if u want, but there are so many better things, canfield 192 cc i think heads and a big .600 or so lift cam and a nice holley double pumper off a edelbrock intake through a c4 tranny with a shift kit 456 gears and u would be hittin mid to low 11's all day
