If you find a complete running 351 you can swap it in for roughly $6000 trans included. For the cost of boring and stroking a 302 you can do the 351 swap, and you'll have better power handling capabilities and low end torque. Not to mention a hell of a rumble. Talk to r.barn, he recently did one and knows his stuff

There's no real advantage to having a 408 versus a 393 . Both are fine choices for engines and both will hold their own on the street if built using a good combo .

u dont even need the stroker kits, if u build it right a 351 bored 30 over to a 357 will get u in the tens, i saw it first hand, if u get a monstorous cam for it then if u put some canfield 192cc heads and a edelbrock intake with a holley carb uptop then a 100 shot say hello to single digit racing

lol i have a 302 edelbrock heads ported and camed,intake and gears ,and i beat 2 diff ws6s so ya can beat him if ya can drive...i have hada lil more done to motor its 10.5 comp..5 speed,posi rear,3000 lbs with me in it...0 decked...on n on...if he gets the juice and a new motor you will have ya hands full..even a ls1 stock with juice is hell...i have a 331 stroker with rpm heads ported and cam,intakein a capri and i sust/smoke./blow away a ws6 now,i have juice in the just incase they do scenario..lol

by the way,a 393 stroker is a lil monster,if ya can get raction and good tires,then a ls1 *** ahoopin will be a borin job since will not take that much anymore to beat him...ls1s are a damn good motor,but i think guys withthem,are kinda like ricers in a way that they think OH ITS A LS1,i can beat you,not knowin what under ya hood.. jmo tho
