RE: My quote from dss
Well 600 hp N/A is great for $7000. A friend bought a 408 crate engine from CHP that doesn't make much more power than thatfor $9000. His engine does have a mechanical roller cam AFR 225 heads with a Victor 351 intake for a 4500 Holley. That's a great deal.

Yea it was,but the guy who was setting it up was STRONGLY recommending certain parts and certain C/R's, etc.I than started to believe that it was some kind of left over motor that he was trying to get rid of or something. Than I heard a few bad things about the company so I layed off of the deal.

I understand I do like them, I don't think the price is that bad. DSS has quality parts and quality labor. I think it would be a solid engine that would make good relaiblepower. Just my opinion.

Its not a complicated setup. Like posted above. Geta block for $50 bucks. Get a rotating assembly from Joel and have it setup at a machine shop. Buy the heads online (brand new or used) and he will save himself TONS of cash.

And another thing, a setup like that is only going to put out about 350rwhp (guessing but I know Im not too far off). For 6K you can get a crate motor that will put out the same power.
