Dont mean to hijack but how do you like it? I am debating whether to build my AOD, or just get a c4 and start from there

I love it, the only thing is that I really can't go on the interstate. I have 410's, and I get into the RPM's when driving. Don't want to burn so much fuel, or my converter. I run C-12, thats about $8 a gallon around here. I can drive anywhere, it just takes longer for me.

are they really that much better than an AOD? i do a little bit of highway driving. I guess what im asking is which would be better to do; building up my aod, or buying a c4 and then having to build that one up on top of purchase price

I don't know too much about AOD's, but I do know that if you build one stout enough, they will handle over650 hp. Not sure where you are in that ball park. Plus I don't know how much it will cost. To build my C4 with converter I paid $1200.

If this tranny breaks again, I'm gonna buy the PA tranny with the lifetime warranty. It cost $2000 for the tranny and bell housing. It also comes with a transbrake.

If you really want a strong tranny that'll hold up to abuse (automatic wise), convert it to a 4r70w (I think that's what it's called). Or you can build your AOD. I'd like to switch to the 4r because of the lower 1st and 2nd ratios and just purely how much power that transmission can handle, but for now I'll justhavetodealwith the AOD.

I never heard of the 4r70w, is it based off of the AOD?
