Tranny rebuild time!

Last Sat while driving my car I noticed it was slipping, so I checked the fluid level. It was ok. So I drained the fluid only to find that I had a burnt smell, and metalic flakes in it. So, I yanked the tranny out this afternoon. I'm buying a rebuild kit and hopefully gonna rebuild it tomarrow, to get it ready for this weekend. Yippy Fun...

Why is that? Do you think it's because it's cooler, and the cars are running stronger?

i think it's cuz people drive the same way they do when the weathers bad as they do when it's nice... roads are slick people get to cocky.... and the tranny problem i think it's just because people can't drive

imma have to agree with you 94 gt I've seen older people drive cars forever and never have trany problems.. it just depends on how much abuse you give the pedal

with the case of the t-5 it's not realy how hard u push on the pedal.. it's how u shift it... i give my car/tranny hell and it held up fine so far, i know people that claim they're t-5 broke from normal driveing (all depends on what u call normal i guess) and some claim they broke just driveing down the high way at 80 MPH, on that i call pull **** the only way that'll happen is low fluid or there was a problem before hand

^^my car did the going out on the freeway thing, but i think it had some problems before that too, but it wasn't that bad then while driving on the freeway one day i went to shift into 5th and it wasn't there, all my syncros were messed up.
