Default spout connector/timing **URGENT**

im in the middle of trying to time my car, where the **** is the spout connector?

and how do u guys go about timing your motors? not advancing it? just setting the timing

again, im doing this right now, so thx for the quick answers

i believe the spout connector is on the distributor. IT is held in by a tiny bolt.

ok heres the deal, re did the top end gaskets. have it all back together now, and are setting timing. we cant get it to set at all, and the exhaust is smokin like a mother ****er... its runnin rich now, idk why. and i cant get the timing in what so ever. wtf do i do? i need to drive this think tm morning, lol.

[/align][/align]"The reason you disconnect the spout connector is so the computer doesn't automatically change the timing when you move the distributor, which will let you set the base timing." - from that link i posted[/align][/align]dime im assuming you have a timing gun?? if you do and the car does run at idle, try and figure out what the timing is at right now, and then go from there. but remember to turn the car off before you unplug that spout connector and move the distributor.[/align]

yea itll run, but very rough... we cant get the idle right at all. even w. it at 10* it still surges. and its running rich too, its all got us stumped. idk wtf to do
