gt-40's will do good and you can find them for cheap. I would just save for something better if that is what you want.

Why do you have to run a electric fuel pump now? The timming cover? If that is the case, I am pretty sure you can swap covers.

No the block that I have now (rollor motor) doesn't have a place for the manual fuel pump to run off the cam so I will have to go with electric.

I believe the mechanical fuel pump mounts on the timing cover and I a pretty sure you can swap that out with you current motor. So you don't have to get a new pump

But that doesn't make any sence because you have to have to pump run off a cam so I dont know how it would run off the timing cover?

i would just get a new fuel tank and pump from a 88+ and swap it in, might free up a horse or two, and ensure you have clean gas going to that dirty *** carb lol... jk

Well I have looked into that but it is just too expensive to do. I mean I would have to buy the tank and then the pump that goes in the tank. I might as well just buy an aftermarket one that is nicer you know?

The drive lobe for the pump is mounted on the front of the cam, under the timing cover...where the pump is mounted. Take a look at you car, you will see what I mean.

For the budget-minded, some GT40s from a junkyard Explorer. Others will tell you which year heads will give you what kind of power.

if you cant afford regular performer edelbrocks only thing cheaper really is windsor jrs or y302 heads, both would still work well probably wouldnt be seeing past 300 hp though.

Yeah I looked at that pump while I had my motor apart last night and I see what you mean about the pump being on the timing cover. I was wanting to put on a double rollor chain though so would this still work or no. I was looking at the GT-40 heads and I was really wanting to go with something that will put out some good power. I know the more money that you spend the more power you get in a way and that you get what you pay for, but I am only a young guy that is a fire fighter and to say the least we dont make any money hahaha
