yea i see what you guys are saying and believe me i was taking some of this into consideration.i went with the 165s becuase i knew that they were going to get me were i wanted to be..i am only trying to put 425-450 and that is it anymore then that it would be on the edge of caution.I knowthaticould of went with the 185 but i didnt want to get involved with flycutting the pistons or making any extra work for myself....and the way that i look at it is that the pulley that i have on the blower is a stock 4.25 and there always room to go smaller to like a 3.5 togive me an extra 2-3poundsand maybe a little more closer to my target

Even your base of 425 to the wheels should be somewhere in the vicinity of 475-490 at the crank, which is well in the "danger zone." I'd get a main girdle and anything else you can to strengthen that thing before you've got two four bangers under your hood
