AC Compressor Clutch
I need to replace the clutch on my AC compressor, does anyone know how to do this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tommy |
RE: AC Compressor Clutch
Here's the scoup i just looked at my spare comp. in the garage. You will have to remove the nut from the center. Then you need a special tool that screws into the clutch then pushes on the center shaft to remove the clutch.Whenyou remove the clutch there is spacers between the outer part of the clutch and the inner be very careful not to loose any of them they need to go back in with the new clutch. Before you pull it apart try to measure the gap between the clutch and the pulley it needs to be about the same as it was maybe a little tighter because of wear on the old one. After the old one is removed you will be able to see how to remove the magnet part of the clutch.Maybe it will be a spring clip.Good luck with it.
