Default Converting Cousin to 5.0

So my cousin has a 3kgt(non-VR4), and the thing never runs right and has problems and such, so iv been trying to talk him into buying a 5.0. Well he found a 4 cyl for 400$, so he is thinkin about buying it and doin the 5.0 swap. Exactly what would he need to do the swap? He would probly switch it over to carbd. How hard of a swap is it? this would be his first engine swap(although his neighbor might be able to help him, and he's done quite a few). Thanks for your help.

If I were looking for a 5.0, I wouldn't buy a 4 cyl. and plan to do an engine swap. Why not just look for a real 5.0?

Because its 400$ for a 4 cyl. A 5.0 costs 4000+ here.

You would end up spending more money on the swap than you would to just buy a stock 5.0, because you still have to buy the motor and tranny at the very least. I found my 88GT for $1800

Fair enough. I guess if he WANTS to do the work, then it's a good idea. I was just imagining that a $400 car...4 cyl or not...wouldn't be in that great of shape, and that he could get a 5.0 for the same price it would cost to get the 4 cyl. up to snuff. Plus, I heard that a 4 cyl swap is no fun.
