problem need help

Default problem need help

i bought a 88 mustang 2.3l that has been sitting for about 16 months for a 100 bucks and it wont start i charged the battery and when i turned the key nothing happened no noise so i kept on turning and about every 4 turns of the key i would hear a clicking sound but thats it does any one have any tips on what it might be?

A bad wire going to the starter is most likely your culprit. Check or wiggle the connections on all the wires. If that doesn't help, have the solenoid checked.

The battery that you charged may not be any good and it's not taking a charge, or the motor has siezed up, or the starter/solenoid may be defective.

See if you can get your hands on another battery long enough to see if that's the problem before spending any money.

Take a test light and check the small wire that goes to the solenoid turn the key and have some one see it the light lights up if so.Check the big wire that goes to the starter if that has power to the starter is bad. Good luck

i am only 16 so i dont know where to find the selenoid where would it be?

Should be behind the battery one of the battery cables go to it.
