Default Best Bolt Ons for a 5.0?

Friend of mine with a 5.0 recently got in to modding it, Im a new edge guy so I dont know much about 5.0's. What bolt ons are beneficial towards power increasing? How does the Cobra Intake Manifold compare to stock? Or maybe a set of Longtubes? I found brand new sets of Longtubes and Pulleys for under $100 each at Summit. Parts for these 5.0's are dirt cheap... So In your expertises', What bolt ons would you guys recommend?

Not really reaching for any numbers.. Just trying to get squeeze a little more horses from the 5.0... Budget? I dunno.. Maybe for about $400-500 No gears, because neither of us can do that ourselves and shops here charge $500+ for installation..

definately some gears if you can ever afford it, a cobra intakeflows better than stock but wont do you any good with the stock heads. definately start with the basic mods
cold air intake, full exhaust, 65 or 70mm TB, ud pullies, subframe connectors are well worth the money too, maybe some new upper and lower control arms and some shocks. that should be plenty to work on before your ready for an HCI swap.

but for 400 to 500 i would try and do a full exhaust, i doubt you could pull it off with that price but maybe you could come close if you buy summit muffler and pipes.

For 500, i would get simple bolt ons, CAI, headers, and exhaust. If you shop around you can find it used for very sheap

For about $600 I was thinking a Cobra Manifold, Summit Longtubes, some cheap *** midpipe/catback, BBK TB and CAI and a cheap *** set of pulleys.. What are the main restricters of the 5.0? Is it the stock Manifold/TB or the stock manifolds? I have just about every bolt on for my 4.6 and barely felt a difference, just wanted to know if a 5.0 is worth modding with bolt ons instead of gears, nitrous, heads/cams....

A new intake isnt really gonna help cuz the heads dont flow well, it may actually hurt a bit on lowend torque. So if new heads arent in the picture, then i wouldnt bother with an intake. Get the basic bolt ons, pulleys, cai, headers, bump timing......n20 is cheap HP too.

I would save up for the gear install, for IMO there is no single mod (save forced induction) that will have as profound, and immediate impact of the driving experience of the car.
