thick wire on the 3g alt

Default thick wire on the 3g alt

ok so i have one wire left to connect and its the thick one. is it a ground or power? can i just hook it up to the positive side of the battery if its power? thanks

yes, it's power and it goes on the stud on the back of the alt. Make sure you use a in line fusable link. 150 amp.

It protechs the circuit in case of a short. The fuse wil blow before electrical damage or fire occurs

ok thanks but the new problem i have now is that i cant put the belt tensioner back on. i cant slide that plate that it has back to the middle. how does it work?

well i tried to just loosen it up but it wasnt doing anything when i was loosening the bolt. i kept on turning the bolt and the tensioner just popped out.

Ummmm, it's spring loaded, did it come apart? The bolt thru the middle is what holds it in place

the bolt just came out. i tried putting the bolt back in and tightening it while putting pressure on the tensioner and it worked but im not sure if thats how its suppose to go.
