Default 351 to 302 conversion

Hey guys! I have an 84 F-250 4x4 that has a blown up 351 in it. Can I drop a 302 into it? If so what will I need that I dont already have. I assume I will need to get an upper intake plenum and a carb to match for the 302 (being that the 302 is out of an 89 mustang and is fuel injected). Anything else?? Any info would be helpful.

THANKS!

The reason I'm going w/ a 302 is that I have one sitting in my garage. I would have to go buy another 351 from a junkyard. At least I know the 302 is good.

the 302 should bolt right in in place of the 351, but you will be somewhat under powered if you do this without modifying the 302 some to get some more HP and torque out of it, which ain't all that hard to do, but .....there's no replacement for displacment!!
you will need to reuse the ignition from the 351 on the 302 if you don't keep it fuel injected and the first mod should be a better high performance intake manifold for use with a carb, something like an Edelbrock Victor Jr. might be a good choice.
