I got an 1989 5.0 mustang and its the gt not lx model. I got exauste tips from flowmaster 2.5 inch to 3.0 inch. I thought that it would work to just cut the rear bumper up and send the tips right through the back. I did'nt know if anyone knew any other ideas...or how they think it would look..or maybe if anyone knew somewhere that made custom covers with the wholes allready? Thanks!!

If it just the stock bumper, I wouldn't cut it. I would look for a cobra cover...that is what most of the GT guys do when they want showey exhaust.
