I havea 1995 5.0 GTS with about 170k miles on it. Body wise it is in good shape. Interior is good just need new seats and the crappy steering wheel needs to be relaced. Motor runs fine and has been maintained well. However, it is showing signs of performance loss due to mileage. It's time to put this car in awesome shape so here's where I need you help. I want to get this car to about 350-400 hp as a daily driver and money is not really an object but I do want to get out without putting too much into it wallet wise. Questions I have....

1) How much of a bitch is it to replace the steering wheel with something cool or are there some decent wraps out there?

2) Any seat recommendations that are nice, sporty and that are easy to install? Pricing?

3) For the motor, is a block with 170k worthy of putting new cam, heads, etc... or would it be better to crate motor and go from there? I would really like to get some suggestions on this part and any particulars and price guesstimates. I am ready to get some performance back in this car....

Dont know bout the steering wheel, but i would suggest stroking the motor and have it rebuilt and you should gather some hp in the process.

1) They sell solid black steering wheel covers at wal mart for $10.... if you want a chrome flaming one you'll have to delete the airbag system on your '95
2)You can get them reskinned for a few hundred bucks back to original, or else summit sells nice bucket seats, what are your intentions, stock seatbelts? 5 points? etc. sporty, bucket seats, orignal, etc.
3) well crate motos are a big waste of money and lack the performance a custom built motor can produce for equal or less money... I'd leave the current motor in there and get a DSS Pro Bullit 347 stroker, bolt on some AFR 165's Heads, Trickflow stage 1 cam, TrickFlow Track heat Upper/Lower intake along with a 70mm TB and 76mm C&L MAF. of course you'l need to open the exhaust system up to 2 1/2" all the way back, stick with shorty headers... and the basic other supporting mods including suspension..

Replace the steering wheel with a stocker (so you can keep cruise control)if it's that bad or just get a steering wheel cover. Depending on your interior color (if it's black or has black accents) I'd go with the Hunsaker Synkro seats http://www.hunsakersports.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=228. If you want pictures of those installed in my fox PM me. Rebuild the motor and then add H/C/I or add F/I.
