My 1992 hatch lxweighs in at 3450 lbs with the spare removed, me in it (185 lbs), and an almost full tank of gas. I could probably get it down to 3400 or so if I didn't have a full tank in it. I weigh mine at the 1/4 mile track.

its only a 100lb diff or so... and as for sheding weigh, anything u dont use... take off. i dont know how extreem u wanna go but if its a race only car, pass seat, rear seat, hatch carpet(theres more material there then ya think, lol.), door panels, ac, change out glass to lexan, etc etc... possiblilties go on forever. personally i wouldnt do any of this, but thats cuz mines a DD... whats the cars main purpose?

i got mine down to 3020 with me in it and a half tank, i weigh 215. so the car is 2805lbs. i put my own rear seat delete,cut pieces from my rear inner bumper, completly removed front inner bumper, and other tricks. mind you my stang spends 90% of its time in my basement, not a daily driver.i weigh down the road at the scrap metal place , i just pull on and say " how much please?". i ve been there a few times

you can go to a scrapyard, truck stop, landscape supply , might charge you $5

my '89 notch 5-speed weighed 3250 w/ 1/4 tank and 150 lb driver
my '90 LX 'vert weighed 3450 w/ 1/2 tank and NO driver
i would guess a gt weighs w/in 75 lbs. of a lx 'vert
and 150 lbs more than a notch
