I have heard of twisting Stock Cranks, Burned up Pistons andsplittingblocks in half, but nothing on the Rods. Interesting. I have heard friends say, they have twisted cranks but never mention anything on the Rods. They must handle a good amount of HP. I could not tell you how much though. Goodluck finding out.
i broke a crank at the first journal and it twist the first two rods, also spider cracked the block up to the cam. i ve heard stock rods polished with arp bolts will hold 450hp.
They will hold well over 450hp. I've seen them hold ~550hp daily driven for 4 years. Another friend is making ~700hp on them. I'd probably upgrade at 600hp though.
After watching some NHRA Super/Stock cars for several years, I'd say not to worry about them much but do use good rod bolts.
I think they'll take 550 HP........
