Default Newb With questions

(please don't flame on me too badlythis is my first ford/RWD car )

Ok I'm buying a 1984 Foxbody that I plan to use for Drag Racing, and Autocross (AutoX), according to the previous owner the car has had 5.0's in it before but it currently has an automaticV6 so my first question would be how hard of a swap will it be to put a 5.0 back in it, then my next question would be if it would do me good to put a ford 9" rear end on and if so how hard it would be

Fist decide what you wanna do with the car... drag racing, or autoX... they arent exactly the same thing and you will use different mods for each

If the car has a v6, i highly doubt it had a v8 before. The swap isnt hard because your not EFI... which actually makes it VERY easy

9" rears are for those who are uneducated to the power of an 8.8" which is cheaper and more readily available... Stick around for a while, read up, search, and learn... We are here for you, but youll need a carb nut to jump in about the swap... I dont do carb... im an EFI ****!

I was also doubtful that it had a v8 previously but Im getting the car for $200 (its in good shape though non-running) I would actually prefer EFI , now does the 8.8 com stock on the Foxbody?

well im not exactly sure of the year that the 8.8 started.... but it is a direct bolt in for all 79-04 stangs excluding 99-04 cobra w/IRS

the only difference through the years were the axle shaft length changes in 94 and again in 99
