Default In-line vs. In-tank Fuel Pumps

Obviously, after all the mods I need to boost the fuel pump a few lph. I have been looking at both in-tank pumps and in-line pumps and can't decide which one to go with. I was hoping to hear the pros and cons of both styles. Also hoping to hear from people who have done one or the other to see if they ran into any problems with their setup.

Thanx

i cant tell you the pros or cons really but i can tell you that i run both on my car. i have a 255lph pump in the tank and a t-rex pump in line. the inline was easier to install because i didnt have to drop the tank but it wasnt a plug and play deal like the intank pump was. i had to make a mount for it, tap into the wire for the intank pump and wire up a relay.

Its good to have both. The in-line pumps get hotter than the intank pumps because the intank pumps are surrounded by fuel to keep it cooler. I use both on my setup to be safe.

In the end, I'll probably end up going with both as well. Upgrading my injectors, pump, and MAF. I may also put on some wideband O2 sensors as well so I can install an AF Ratio gauge.

Are you running the stock fuel pump?

technically yes, although i'm not really running it at all right now. I used the winter months to work on an H/C/I swap. I know that it's going to need more fuel so I will have to upgrade my injectors and MAF. Naturally, the stock pump is most likely going to need to be replaced. I'm hoping to finish it all before the spring thaw.
