Default Any advise (trany)

Well im going to take the tranny down this weekend and was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to making this a much easier job. My throwout bearing has been giving me a hard time it wines when i push it the clutch and before it gets worse im going to replace it. Which i dont know y it is acting up anyways it was replaced when the new motor was put in which has less than 5k on it. So i hope nothing else is wrong so any suggestions would be cool thanks.

Default RE: Any advise (trany)

remove shifter handle, exhaust, driveshaft, starter, drain fluid, remove wiring from tranny, support tranny with a jack, remove tranny bolts, slowly lower jack while pulling it back...
do those in that order and you'll be set, should take 1- 1 1/2 hours for an average person... check the bearing retainer (the thing the clutch release bearing rides on) while it's out that could casue the clutch release bearing to go bad prematuraly... get the more expencive release bearing from napa... it's like 40 $$$ but it's lasted 2 clutches and it's still silent

o and the clutch release bearing is better known as the throw out bearing, just in case you where wondering what i was talking about
