Default Good rear end gear oil?

I'm having my gears put in on wednesday and was just wondering on a good choice for gear oil. I was thinking of swinging by Pep Boys and getting a few quarts of Royal Purple rear end oil. What kind of weight and viscosity will I want to buy? Any suggestions on better brands?

Thanks!

yea and with most fluids they say to add the addiative from ford but i was reading somewhere that it messes with the chemicals in the royal purple. but read up on it to make sure. i run it and its been about 6months with no problems so far. the only change is it sounds like someone wining in the back seat. it just started after the oil. ive acctually heard the same account from a couple of people

Me too. RP already has friction modifier, so you don't need to add it. My gears are quiet as can be.
