Default Cams and RR's

Yeah, i have a stock cam, and 1.7 RR's, so i was told that thats combo will make the stock camalmost likea B303, i was wondering how true? And i have heard thatthe Bcam is a flop?, but my car runs smooth and good power, and also would that hurt the computer when running a speed density system?,cuz it doesnt seem to cause any problems.i dont know the lobe center or what the vaccum is(stock is 115).

Stock cam with 1.7s is smaller than a bcam. It would not run, idle to well on speed density. If someone has a speed density car you need to convert to mass air eventually, so just put it in your budget. (I did)

Well mines is a SD system, the last owner of my car said he got it too run better with that setup, he converted the car from a 4 banger to a V8. He did i great job on everything, changed over wiring harness, and put an A7AO7 computer in it. I was wondering if anyone knew what the duration and lift would be with 1.7 rr's. i know ive seen it before but i cant seem to find it again. if anyone knows, thanks

I dont remember what the lift is on the stock cam, but I know that 1.7s take up the lift quite a bit. On my car with the E303 and 1.7s it is at 528 lift. Compared to only 498 lift with 1.6.

Lift and duration isnt what makes it run like crap with speed density, its the lobe center. Need to keep a 114* lobe center, and not go radical on the duration.

With alphabet cams a popular substitute to the E cam is the B cam w/ 1.7 rr, the B cam will make more power than the E b/c of the higher duration.

i was going to say .473 so its in that area. and a stock cam with 1.7RR isnt even as good as an e-cam so who ever told you a stock cam with 1.7's is like a B-cam lied

i found a book that says a 93 cobra cam has .4797 lift with 0 lash. and a bcam .480has with .284 duration it didnt say the duration of a cobra cam .so unless you have a cam from a 1993 cobra it nothing like a b cam. and 2 kwik why do you say the alph. cams are no good ? cause there single pattern ?
