Cam Swap

Cam Swap
well i'm in the middle of the brake down process for my cam swap and i have a few questions:
1. is the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer on a reverse thread bolt or is just a regular one?
2. should i try and take the water pump/timing cover off together and not change out the seal btw them (as long as the seal doesn't brake)?
3.my oil pan gasket is brand new (one of the ones with the metal strip in it with blue silicone around it) with only 2000 miles in it, do i really need to cut the front of it off and use those little tabs (plus rtv) to reseal the timing cover or can i just clean and rtv the old seal?
4. lastly, the front seal for the crankshaft (in the timing cover) is new (has only 2000 miles in it), do i need to pound that one out and install a new one or will the other one be ok?

RE: Cam Swap
The bolt that goes in the harmonic balancer is regular thread. As far as your water pump and timing chain cover goes you pretty much have to take both off seperately because bolts that go into the water pump go through the timing chain cover to hold it on as well. I would for sure replace gaskets on both of them. As far as the oil pan gasket goes if your careful when taking off the timing chain cover you can cut off the oil pan gasket without damaging it, and if you do damage it RTV should do the trick. Your main seal you shouldn't have to replace, it wont get damaged.
