that relay wont have anything to do with your alt, and as far as the brake lights go... just park another car behind you, or use a jack handle between your seat and brake pedal
odd....... if you by chance have any windows behind car you could see lights..or a mirror

I cant see my brake lights when I am in the car. Nor can I test my alternator circuits with out the engine running.

The relay on the fender is the relay for WOT (wide open throttle) air conditioner cutoff. It looks like someone has removed your AC right?
I think you still need that relay, if you unplug it it kills the power to your fuel pump. I've got an 87 (V look V) that relay shorted out and melted on my car. I had to rplace the pigtail and relay to get the car running again and my AC has been removed. I'm sure if you can get the wiring diagram you could wire around it.
The other is your BAP sensor.

MAP sensors are in intake manifolds. MAP = Manifold Air Pressure. So that rear box aint a MAP sensor.
Yeah, my engine bay is quite messy. I have to clean it up. Going to cut out all of the FI crap. But dunno' what those two things do.

You are correct about that being the MAP sensor. I forgot it had a vacuum line to it.[&:] oops, my apologies
