Default Electric fan upgrade?

Hey all, I'm trying to thin out my engine bay to maybe squeeze a few more ponies from my car. I remember somebody saying that an electric fan out of a tarus will work on our car, is this true? If not, what kind of fan can I pull from a junkyard that will work? How do I wire it to switch on automatically? I'm going to get rid of my smog pump while I'm at it.

Thanks!!

Just buy a fan (IMO). They arent that exspensive, and it will come with all the mounting stuff you will need. Plus it is new and better. You can have the fan turn on automaticly by a temp sensor switch and a relay. Or you can have it turn on with an ignitio switch wire using a relay.

But you really don't want to have it turn on automatically with the ignition. That will make it take forever to warm the car up in the winter, and that's not good for your car. Stick with the temp sensor/relay. Just my advice, do with it what you will!

The idea is to do this cheaply. I have larger amounts of money I'd rather spend on other things. What kind of car can I pull one out of to mount in my stang?
