Yep, bellhousing is the same between the 302 and 351. You'll need a specific bellhousing for the TKO, but it will go on either engine

If weight is important to you, keep in mind that the 351 is a couple hondos more.

But a 351 with aluminum heads will weigh about what a stock 302 does

+1 on that.
Mattdel has got it right.
Wieght distribution is sort of an important factor on the FOX body cars I think.
Ford built them with at least 56% of the wieght on the front wheels and on some models, as much as 58%.
You don't need to carry the extra wieght besides that, the new 'BOSS" 302 block is about ready to be delivered to us and it sounds to me like it will do just about everything that a DART does for about $1000 less.......

There was a kid at my school that I knew named Brock that had an 89 GT. He bought it (he has money) and dropped it off at Texas Hot Rods for about 3 months. He told them to just get it running, it came back with a Mac exaust, C and L intake, heads, cam, throttle body and 30LB injectors and 20 psi of fuel pressure and a 10,000 dollar bill. I say F Texas Hot Rods.

What is considered good weight distibution? A lot of exotic cars have motors in the rear and I would imagine they're built to outperform a Mustang.

a 50/50 weight distribution is optimal.
