Hey

Could someone enlighten me on whats involved in swapping froma 5.0 H.O to a 351 windsor in a 1990 Lx manual tranny (standard T5)? I realise it's prob quite a complex process so just the basics of whats involved and stuff to look out for will sufice.Cheers dudes

Oh also whats a good price to pay fora 351W and where could i look topick one upin West coast (B.C) Canada?

It isn't all that complex.

I posted my writeup on the thread linked to above, but the version on my site is more current.
My site is listed in my sig.

Down here in the Seattle area a complete long block will go for about 5-600 for a non-roller, and 7-900 for a roller block.

Don't hesitate to ask questions, it is a great swap!

OK i understand alot of people do this swap, including me.
does someone have a list of vehicles and years that came out with a 351w,
for junk yard scavengers like myself.

You won't have any problems finding 351Ws, but you will have trouble finding 351W roller blocks. A lot of trucks and vans came with them, just look under the hood at any stickers. The intake manifold will say something like "Ford 5.8 EFI."

no mustang came with a 351[:@]except for a 351r mustang about 50k

In 1969 the Ford musrtang came with two versions of the 351 the 2 barrel version was rated at 250hp while the 4 barrel was rated at 290. Both were built at Fords Windsor plant thus making them 351 Windsors and both were standard issue in the mach 1's (opptional on other models)right up until the original mustangs demise in 1973 (although power figs varied)
