Default 351 questions

i have been loking into doing a 351 swap in my 91 GT.
i met a guy who has a 351 on an engine stand in his garage that came out of an 85 pickup truck.
he told me he would sell it for $300, including everything from intake to oilpan.

questions...
is this a good price ?
what is a roller block ?
this engine is not a roller block...correct ?

The 85 block is not a roller block.
The term 'roller block' refers to whether or not the block can accept the factory 302 hyd roller lifters.

There are several options for running a non roller block.

The 300 seems pretty reasonable.
Do you trust the guy? Gut feeling?

I have a bunch of details on the swap on my site...

A good thing about the truck motor is that you'll be able to use the distributor from it

I have seen HUGE debates on that very question.

The 5.0 HO (Mustang 5.0) used hyd roller lifters from the factory.
hyd lifters require less adjustment, and make a little less noise.

Nothing wrong with using solid rollers, or hyd flats though...
Impact on the cam selection will be the biggest impact that decision will have?
