i have an 89 notch that had a 5 lug conversion on it when i bought it. the rims on it now are 96-97 gt rims. this is the description in the ad:

Up for sale are 4 Weld Racing Draglites with tires. The rims are (2)15x3.5" (1 1/2" backspace) and (2) 15x8" (4 1/2" backspace) The bolt pattern is 5-4.75 and 5-4.5. The wheels have bowtie center caps, nice metal valve stems, and new chrome plugs. The front tires are 165R15 with all kinds of tread left. The rear tires are the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials 275/60/15. These tires are like new too. They have less than 150 miles on them and no track use. I had this setup on my 69 Z-28 and they worked great. The rear tires hook and ridenicely. Thanks for looking.....

the tires are too big and the backspacing is wrong.... so no.. dont buy them

what backspacing should i be looking for? as far as width i have 255s on there now so i guess i wont go any wider.

Actually it will fit. I have seen tons of mustangs with 275/60's. Look at my mustang I have 15x8 rims with 4.5in back spacing.

Adder thats not true. A guy that used to get on here that went by tims 88gt has centerline rims 15x8 with 4.5inch backspacing. We mounted 275/60's on the back. His motor was built and he never rubbed once, launching, shifting or going over bumps. He never even rubbed part of hit ground effects.
