remove the sway bars, lighter wheels, alum driveshaft, a/c, get a manual steering rack, remove the GT body kit
you'll see 2725
also relocate the battery to the rear

RE: What should it weigh ?
My '84 hatch is 2680# without 180#'s of me........
Remove A/C compressor, all wiring except headlites/taillites. Get glass hood, aluminum driveshaft, frame connectors, 6 point roll bar, alum raditor, aluminum heads/intake/water pump. Ditch sway bars. Use lightwieght seat with aluminum mount (17# total). Remove all radios, factory gauges. Remove ALL sound deadner from whole car. Remove inner front fender liners, windshield wipers and motor, hood latch, headliner, carpeting. Get rid of factory gas tank, use 5 gallon fuel cell.
Ditch power steering rack, go with manual, get rid of power brakes....
Iprobably forgot a few of the things that I did other than this but this should give you an idea of what I did to get the wieght down to where it is. BTW, I know where another 40-50# can come off too..........
