Default I'm new here, and i need some help w/ my 95' 5.0

hey there, as you can see from the subject of this post. I drive a 95' , 5.0
I have some questions that need some answers.
first of, how much horse power does a stock 95' 5.0 have?
and how much is added once you add a "BBK" cold air intake and a new exhaust?
i don't feel my car is giving me its true potential, what can be the problem if i feel that it is not "running on all cylinders"?

215hp at 4200rpm; The BBK intake adds about 10-12 hp, and for the exhaust it all depends on what you buy.
How many miles on it? Maybe someone drove the **** out of it.

Cold air really wont add anything i believe, exhaust should free up some HP, i dont know about like 20 or so like some companies claim, but who knows, im no expert though, and i would think if it wasnt running on all cylinders you would probably really know

cold air kits definately add power, as long as they're fender mounted. colder air = more power. science proves that. Also the straightest path possible with provide a tad more air, which is why the tubing is solid and not coiled rubber like the stock hose.
With the intake and a full exhaust from the headers to the tailpipes, you'll probably see 15-30hp, depending on how dirty your engine is, internally.

Like the other guys said, adding a CAI and new exhaust will give you 15 - 30 more hp, depends on what kind of parts you get. Long tube or short headers,H or X pipe, cats or off road, type of mufflers, whether you replace the mass air meter and throttle body, blah blah blah.

If you feel like your car isn't making the power it should be, try doing a tune up on it. Get new plugs, good wires, cap and rotor, clean the filter, check the timing etc etc.

Is there something specific you think is wrong with your machine? What is it not doing that you think it should be?

I would put in some lower gearing like 3.73s after the CAI and the exhaustso it will help get the full potentiol out the power you alreadyhave. You'll defintly notice a difference with the rear gears.

yea a cai is about 5-10 and full exhuast is anywere from 5-15 on a stock engine idea say... stock hp form you gt should be 215 so i would guess you at about 235hp... also consider the tune up as mentioned above... if u have bad spark plugs then u arent burning all the fuel.. so ull get less power... u mite also wanna think about some seafoam and lucas injector cleaner... if you eninge is all nasty a gunky inside ull loss power as well... just so u know tho u dont feel hte horsepower... so when u say it feels slow that really doesnt relate to hp... torque is what u feel.... if u wanna get a judgement on hp take a stop watch and run a quarter mile.. have sum1 time u with the stop watch... use the tripometer and see wha you speed and time at a 1/4 mile.. its not really acurrent but it will give u an idea... u should be like 14-15 secs.. u would know if your only running on seven cylinders

235? those are pretty high numbers on a stock engine with just exhaust and cai, im probably only pushin 240-250 with everything i got. Plus 215 is i believe the flywheel power, so i'd minus like 20 HP when i gets to the wheels. just my opinon

I was just going to say that! Gears will wake that pony up! Plus...I think its 215 horse at 5100, i believe the peak torque is at 4200.
