We put a bbk on a 95 GT 5 Speed in class last month and I was 20 horsepower at the tires with it. This was on a dynojet dyno, not really anymore torque, but 20 peak horsepower. It baselined 220 whp and we saw 240 with the cai.

+1 on the stock airbox.... I read it a 5.0 mustang, they ran dynos with the stock aibox, and then put cai in it, and really didnt get much of a difference, just get a K&N in there

Dyno spike is likely what happened. Do you currently have the dyno sheet to show the gain? Was it an average gain or just peak? Was there TQ gain consistant? I always hear 'we got this number on the dyno' however those dyno sheets tend never to show up.



Stock inlet is not restrictive enough to warrant any significant gains by going to a 'BBK'. Sorry not to call you a liar, however it's just not possible...several tests have been conducted and have shown the factory box with a panel filter offers sufficient air flow to feed any 302-306 N/A engine. I myself have seen dyno runs with inlet swaps, inlet removal, belt removal, fan removal and to date the least beneficial swap is stock box to aftermarket. The anderson power pipe ISthe only truelyeffective CAI I've seen and even that item on average has shown less than a handfull hp increase in even the H C I cars.

Get the MAC its CARB legal, exact same as the BBK. Everybody wants BBK but they are notCARB legal. waste of money if you have to smog

Air inlet will have ABSOLUTELY no relation to emissions...you are kidding right?

If that's the story you want to tell then so be it...so now your emission department is regulating air inlets right...good to know. As for idiot...you spent money on a BBK pc of um...well I won't say...and I'm the idiot. Nice language child.

If you failed based on that then you failed simply because you failed the inspection stations 'personality requirements' obviously ( I can tell by your attitude) you pissed someone off and they found a technicality
