Default 1 grand and a mildly modified stang what would you do?

I have an 89 drop top AOD with shorty headers, off road h pipe, direct replacement accel coil and wires, K & N drop in filter, and SFC's. I have about $1,000 to work with and I'll do all the work myself. This is not a drag car, though I'm sure I'll take it down to the track a few times for fun. What would you do for a street car with 110,000 miles?

a custom built 3000rpm torque converter (look at edge) ~500
gears. go with 3.90's or 4.10's for you auto ~200
shift kit
biggest trans cooler you can find. ~70

that leaves you with a few bucks for other odds and ends you might need during installation of those parts.

get ready to roast some tires!!

What you're forgetting in that estimate though is installation of the gears. You can probably find some new on the sale forums/ebay for 130 or so, but install is probably gonna run you about 250

HCI idea is awesome...but with a AOD in place and wanting to FEEL your money well spent the items quoted above will create a starting point that he's going to know is money well spent. You WILL know you're faster with the above parts

I'm going under the assumption that he's like the other 98.342% of us who do all of our own stuff but can't do gears. Man I've gotta learn how to do that...
