Well today i took out my stock shifter and was going to put in my new Hurst Shifter but i cant get the car into 2nd 4th or reverse and i dont know what the problem is. My uncle says the linkage but i have no idea how to find that. I took some pictures and tell me whats wrong if you can. thanks

Does it have adjustable stops?

where would i have to look to find out?

On the shifter itself. Look at the base of the aftermarket shifter and look for set screws and/or bolts goin into the base by the actual ball not the 4 on the plate.

well it wouldnt go into those gears with the stock one in. do you thinnk its internal????

If it was the shift stops it would not go into any gear, it's your tranny.

Even though it didn't work with the stock shifter, i would still just back out the stops and give it a shot.

I had problems with 1st and secondand when i tore the tranny apart the little ears as i call them that slide the syncronizers break on the 1-2 fork from power shifting but I'm not sure if that really relates with not having any of the 2,4,R gears

well i bought it from my cousin and i think he mighta beat the car so it might be the tranny. ill try the stops first and if that doesnt work i gotta put in my new clutch anyways so ill just tear down the tranny or something. you think i can go to a junkyard and just pick one up there?
