My car ran better with the PCV still in place vs running breathers. I finally, after trying numerous "fixes", installed a dual PCV system with an oil separator. My write up is on the page listedbelow.

Get a cheap set of valve covers from ebay,put a couple of 1 1/4 holes in it on the pass side, install 2 pcv valves,run hoses off of each one into a catch tank/vent tank that can be mounted on the side of your fenderwell. You can poss use your old evap canister as the catch tank. And yes plug off the hose that goes from vc to tb that will def allow boost in your crankcase
