you definately want temps in the 180-200 range. Ideally 190 anything under 180 and the computer can tend to run rich not identifying itself as 'at optimum temp'.
wrong with forged internals and a blower that isnt good i was running a 180 and was detonating so i droped to a 160 and it fixed it
I don't see a blower in his post or sig...so no NA you don't want to be under 180...blown might be a different story...I have no experience with blown setups.

•Thermostat changes under 180°
This only tricks your EEC and hurts your engine; leave this trick for the drag strip.
•Altering ECT or ACT
This only tricks your EEC and hurts your engine.
Changing MAF
This will only confuse your computer, no performance gain in its self.
Read about MAF in the sensors section.
according to www.fordfuelinjection.com- dont worry about overheatin unless your close to 255*

No offence but this is not the ideal way to correct detonation. Detonation was likely due to poor fuel quality and or too much timing for the condition of the engine. Way you've done it leaves you with a car that never thinks it's at operating temps (180 plus) and never gets into a correct A/F ratio...expensive and power robbing. Most cars will run a few degrees over stat setting, more than 15 and it's often a rad condition and or worn fan.

I agree, what is your boost retard set at? under boost your leaning way out and thats not the correct way to adjust it... a wideband can really show this to you under boost you'll see your a/f ratio jump way up, ideal is 14.7:1

my temp sending unit is spent, and ive got a laser gauge that reads the lower intake temp at 190 plus. But in traffic it feels like im beating the crap out of my engine because my electric fan keeps going on and off constantly. its really annoying because it will start running sluggish. I have stock eternals except for hyperutectic pistons. Oh, and its 50 50 mixture and i burped the system once. Im also running with no hood.

I have a 195* in mine, runs about 185-190 around town and 195-200 on the highway.

Also, don't quote me on this, but I've heard that aluminum radiators don't cool as well as copper ones.

Get a High Volume or INcreased Volume Waterpump, you need to move that coolant in and out fast for quicker dessipatation throught the cores of the aluminum radiator.
