Default 94' Tranny in a 92'?

Will a manual tranny from a 94 fit in my 92 Lx 5.0? Mine has an AOD right now...

Thanks

not with out opening the tranny.... the 94-95 manual tranny's input shaft and bellhouseingare 7/8's on an inch longer... if you get the bell houseing and the input shaft from a 93 and earlier you can swap them into the 94 tranny and it'll work fine

94gtcoupe. I understand the 94 and up T5 sits further back.

Where is the length difference in the input shaft. Beyond the spline or before?

the bellhousing and the input shaft are longer... it's the splines themself that make up the extra length

So can the end of the input shaft be cut off?

We used to do this on old 340 and 440 Mopars when swapping an automatic for a manual. The crankshafts where not always drilled deep enough when installing a manual trans into an automatic crankshaft.
We'd install a pilot bushing/bearing and cold cut the input shaft so it wouldn't bottom out.
