Default NO REV LIMITER ?????? Please help

My 89 lx 5.0 has no rev limiter, does anyone know why this is ? My guess is that there may be some type of computer chip installed that would eliminate the rev limiter. What is the cheapest way to get one on it other than an msd 6al. I have an MSD 6a I havent installed yet. Does anyone know a way to hook a rev limiter into theMSD 6A Box. Thanks Guys. I need to do something about this quickly, thanks in advance for all of your help.

My understanding is that stock the revs are limited to 6,250 rpm's, but no one realizes that because, at least in stock 5.0's, the valves float long before 6250 and can't get there anyways. I could be wrong, but thats what an infinite tech who just graduated from UTI told me.

the car effortlessly revs to 6500 or 6700 and I belive its went as high as 7000 rpms. This scares me, thats why I want to get a rev limiter on it. I might just sell my 6a box and buy an MSD 6al to correct this problem. Any other suggestion that may be easier or cheaper.
