Default windage

Are they worth it? Also if they are what is the best brand to get?? I have read that the Canton one is the best because it is screened unlike the others that are louvered. Also do you have to get a crankscraper??

they all do about the same, i like canton. Their goal is to make the oil that is slinging in the pan to stay off the crank to stop the parasitic lost due to oil clinging to the crank. One 5.0 trick at the track is to drain your oil till you have about 2-3 quarts left in your car. that's one way to get the oil from not hanging onto the crank, but for track only. I've seen advertised to give about 10hp, maybe. is it worth pulling your motor to do it, i would say no. if the motor is out already, then i probably would.

One other trick i know is too polish the lifter valley till its smooth and paint it with this stuff called GLYPTOL (spelling). It makes the valley super smooth and all the oil returns to the pan faster. This lets you run less oil in your engine with out problems.

they say its worth 10 hp and keeping the air out of the oil is piceless. dss has a nice windage tray that bolts to there main support system. think of it like this , the crank is whipping around like a blender and the oil is like ice cream.......... hang on i want a shake !
