Default My hood+intake rub together

I put a new intake on my car not too long ago and a black spot has formed on top of it now. I found out it was from the underside of my hood. It has a protective black cover on the underside of it. I was considering getting a new hood, but that's going to end up costing me at least $400 just for the hood. I was wondering if it would damage my hood at all or help if I just took the black covering off.

Its not going to hurt anything except maybe make your hood a little warmer.

Alright, I'll take it out, probably just for style anyway. I'd like a cowl hood if I could get one, I wouldn't even care if it was primer. Hey, jw how hard was it to put your longtubes on? Have any problems?

I would just get an aftermarket hood... but if you can just take the lining off the hood for it to work than go for it. It will not harm anything.

look for a used hood. You can find pretty good deals.. hell Ill sell you my 2 /12 inch cowl hood for 250 shipped. I want a taller hood cause my motor is coming together and I see with my tfs intake and spacer my throttle body is going to rub the hood, so Im selling it.. pm me if interested. Thanks

I did what they did above. No liner and BFH mod to make a little more clearance

I have stock intake, and still have hood mat, anyone know why thats there? just to retain heat, it'd prolly help with heat reduction if it was removed [&:]
