Default burning to much fuel...help!!

i was racing my 88gt the other day and when i got over 4 grand it started pooring out black smoke. which i take it is dumping to much fuel into the engine. I have after market upper and lower intake 70mm throdle body and mass air meter as well as a cool air intake. What can i do stop the fuel problem?</P>

Is the mass air sensor calibrated for your injector size? That can cause excessive fuel useage. Also check and make sure you don't have any exhaust leaks before your o2 sensors. They will read the excess air as not being burnt(lean) and increase the pulse width on your injectors to compensate. Also just a thought you can check resistance through the injector coils and make sure that none of them are shorting out and staying open.

Never mind the exhaust leak check if it only happens at wide open throttle. At WOT the computer dosen't look at the o2 sensors readings for proper air/fuel ratio. But if it happens at part throttle, it could be worth a look.

Sorry for the confusion, I ment that if it only smokes when you got the pedal to the metal, then it probably isn't your exhaust sucking in unmetered air, throwing off your o2 sensors reading.
