Mine done the same thing after i put in 3.73's. Its in my tranny. I dunno what the hell it is. I guess it's just spinning faster now that's making it do it. I thought it was the rear end also, but you can hear it in the tranny. Good luck finding out what it is. And if ya do, let me know.
Its because the sound carries through since all is connected. Its not actually coming from the trans, although it does sound like it, I know what you mean. Good luck

I bought FRPP 3.73's not richmonds. Some other guys i have talked to at school and stuff told me that theirs do the same thing. One guy that I know has an SN95 with the Pro50 shifter (exact same set up as me) only his stuff was pro installed. He drove my car and he said that it did the exact same thing and that ford racing gears whine when decelerating for some reason. They were set up right though i know that much, even had 2 other guys double check the pattern. Its not diffucult you just have to know what you are doing. I am probably going to double check the pattern and back lash again when I change the fluid in a couple hundread more miles.
