Default IS THICK OIL BETTER FOR BIGGER ENGINES

I WAS THINKING OF TRYING 20W/50 RACING OIL, BUT I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS ONLY SUPPOSED TO BE USED ON A SHORT TERM BASIS AND CHANGED FREQUENTLY OR WHAT

don't use a oil that heavy since it's getting cooler.....the 10-40 is heavy enogh unless you have a high pressure or high volume oil pump..you have increase wear at start up..and isn't that your thinking to help reduce wear?....your best protection is sythed. 10-40 summer 10/30 winter and a oil primer this would reduce wear in the 30-50% range....you'll never see detroit do it because they need to sell cars

Use 5w or 10w30 unless your burning some oil, then go 10w40, NEVER use 20w50 in any modern automobile engine unless its on its last leg anyways. Newer cars usually use 5w20. Oil weight is determined by both engine bearing clearances and operation temperature. The lower weight oil you use the easier the car is to start, the better gas mileage you get, but at the expense of lower oil pressure if your bearing clearances are too loose and burning oil if your rings are worn.

no it's a pump to prime the engine of oil to a pre set psi normally like 15 psi...same thing when you fire up a new engine using a drill to move the oil pump this just uses a electric pump
