If you keep the AOD, you'll want to upgrade it and get a better tq converter for sure. If you go T5, get used parts to do the swap and it will save you a lot of $. Mine has had the swap done, but it was done before I bought it.

I was planning on swaping my auto trans for a 5 speed trans. i was wondering if anyone new around how much the whole installation cost, or does any recommed keeping the auto. thanks

just so everyone knows, and auto to manual swap isn't as cheap as people thing... the cheapest way is to buy a wrecked parts car... however i would getsteeda's (or like company) fully adjustable cable kit... ie. adjustable cable, quadrant, and firewall adjuster... and i would have the tranny rebuilt
plan on spending a LOT of money then
i would have to pay someone to do it

swap
not sure on that but im having my stage 3, 5 speed yanked out and a 3spd. auto w shift kit installed for $800 thats in the d/fw area... this is my 4th mustang had a 67 an 84 a 96 and now in a 92 gt and allota my friends have foxbody muscle cars and all of them sugest the c4 with a shift kit over the t5
