Default pony rims question

how do you take off the cap or lid thing to get to the lug nuts on pony rims? thanks. I just bought eibach spacers that have five lugs, but I think the pony rims have 4, right?

theres a little slit between the center and the rim itself, slip a screwdriver in between it and just pop it off, it will take a little bit of force but it should come right off

why don't I need them? I'm want the wheel wells to line up w/ the tire. I don't like how the tires are sort of tucked in, you know?
