Default 165 vs 185 afr's

185's are better right? Im building a 347 engine. This is getting to be very frustrating. Im not a pro with all this head/cam piston stuff. Any help would be appreciated! thanks

Go with 185's. I went with Canfield 195's and mine is getting done rigth now. Jay Allen recommended the Canfields, but I've heard from a guy who does flow testing for companies, that AFR's flow the best.

also I need to decide on roller rockers? What will the afr's come with? I am ordering them with the "upgraded springs" for $175 more.. Will I need to get roller rockers? Will they be ready to bolt on when they come in?

I'm not doing the bottom end/long block, but think I have 1.6 RR's. You'll have to buy the RR's, and unless I'm completely brain cramping, they don't automatically come with them. I bought Scorpions, which are supposed to be great. Get a custom grind cam and as you hear on here all the time, do it right and do it once.

I'll try to post some pictures I took today of the engine I'm getting built.

They aren't anything special, but are kind of cool.

I don't think the AFR's will come w/ RR's, but you can get Scorpions for ~$188 or so and they're good rockers. Getting the upgraded valve springs is well worth the $ w/ AFR's. Ask Grabbem88...the standard springs tend to float. IIRC, you'll need stud mount rockers; 1.6's would be your best bet, depending on your cam choice and the manufacturer's recommendation.

I'd get 185s for the 347. If you get Pedestal mount rocker heads the spring upgrade is only $60, the stud mount rocker heads are more b/c they upgrade more stuff. For a cam, maybe something along the lines of the trickflow stage 2 cam, not totally sure on that though b/c i dont know much about 347s...
