1990 Mustang GT, need help!!
Hey guys, I am new to this site. I really need some help. I have a 1990 Mustang GT with stock 5.0 HO in it. My car had been runing fine. One day I was racing my friends eclipse and all of a sudden the engine power was just going in and out and the tach was going crazy. It was backfiring and stuff. Now, it will run good for a little while then it will start acting up, sputtering and backfiring and stuff. Then it will cut off. When you try to crank it, it fires right up but shuts right off. You have to let it sit all the way til the next day before it will crank again. I have no clue what is going on. I changed the coil to a brand new Accel hi performance one and also put a new cap and rotor on it. I thought maybe the coil had gone bad, still didn't fix it. I am thinking it might be the ignition control module. But I would rather have some input before spending more money on something that won't fix it.

Common 5.0 problem. It is your distributor module or ignition module what ever it is called, located on the side of the distributor that the wires plug in to. About $30 at part store.
