B&M Hammer Shifter

RE: B&M Hammer Shifter
I'm guessing by your name that you have an 95 GT convertible. Well I have a 95 GT Convertible with a B&M Hammer in it and I love it. It's very helpful, but only if you know what youre doing.
Usually, people will jus tjeave the auto tranny in D and let the computer shift for them. That works ok, but isn't always ideal (unless you've programmed the shift points yourself.) The other alternative is to put it in 1, and when you're ready manually push forward to shift it to 2, and then to D to get it to third. That works a lot better. Problem is, you can easily press too far forward and jump right over 2 and slip it into D. And normally, the computer doesn't hold 2 very long before shifting into D.
The Hammer is a ratchet style shifter, which means that every time you press forward, it shifts up once and only once. So instead of being gentel and careful, you can quickly and accurately slam it into the next gear. I find it much easier to use when shifting like that, which is very helpful when you're trying to shift at the optimal times.

I've never had a problem with mine. it was easy to install, looks great, and works great. How exactly can it be a piece of junk? It's noly function is to let you ratchet through the gears. It's not like its cheap and falls apart and it's not like it doesn't work properly.
It does exactly what it's supposed to do and it looks / feels great.
