Default Tremec TKO 500

I just bought a 10 spline Tremec TKO 500 and wanted to see what peoples experience was with them, or hear what they've heard. Here's my set up.

I have a Vortech 5 psi SC, a 347 stroker, Canfield 195 heads, 42 lb. inj. 90 MM Pro M MAF, 70 MM TB/EGR, a Camshaft Innovations custom grind cam, 1 5/8 " equal length headers, custom 3"mandrel bent x-pipe with Borla mufflers, MSD blaster coil, MSD 6 AL ignition, TF Street upper/lower intake, pulleys, fluidyne aluminum rad, black magic xtreme electric fan, 160 stat, 355 gears, short throw shifter, scorpion 1.6 rr's, AFPR, 255 lph FP and Vortech T-Rex ext. FP, UPR upper control arms with polyurethane bushings, Koni shocks/struts,Lakewood action/ traction lowers, MT Drag Radials, fron skinnies, Centerline Rims, Energy susp. motor mounts,ADCO anti roll sway bar, mass air,Kenny Brown subframe connectors, edlebrock water pump, Hamberger oil pan with pickup, 130 amp. alt, etc.

I know thisexplanation isoverkill, but I wantedyou guys tosee what the trans will be handling. I also bought a Centerforce dual friction clutch to go along with the trans.

why didnt you just buy the 26 spline input since you were buying a clutch anyways?!??

I already bought the clutch and figured the 10 spline would do the job.

It's mainly a street car anyway.

bellhousing,yolk,4 quarts of syncromesh, new crossmember or modify old one, you'll have to enlarge the shifter wholes on your old handle

I got the bell housing, yolk, fluids, but I didn't get a crossmember. Would you recommend I do, or is modifying the existing one O.K.

BTW-What does that involve and how hard is it to enlarge the shifter handle holes?

are you going to use your old shifter handle on the tko? it comes with the shifter base and not the handle, all you have to do is drill them out to the appropriate size, as for the cross member new ones are 100$ or you can grind down the tack welds on the old one and slide it back.. your call

I was planning on it and have an aluminum short throw shifter I was planning on using.

What type/brand cross member could I buy if I wanted to go that route as opposed to grinding down the tack welds on the old one?
